Our name, Zero Circular, reflects our commitment to two core principles: zero waste and a circular economy. From the beginning, we have focused on developing innovative, biodegradable materials that not only reduce environmental impact but also close the loop in production cycles. Founders of Zero Circular
Anima Piya
Anima Piya is a purpose-driven civil engineer turned environmental entrepreneur, with an unwavering dedication to sustainability. Born and raised in a family business built on plastics, she witnessed firsthand both the convenience they offer—and the devastation they leave behind. Instead of turning away, she chose to confront this reality head-on by creating sustainable, home-compostable alternatives that can replace fossil-based plastics without leaving a lasting scar on our planet.
With her engineering background, Anima blends technical insight with a heartfelt connection to the natural world. Today, she leads ZERO’s operations with care, clarity, and purpose—overseeing everything from production and supply chains to research collaborations and community partnerships.
Outside her work at ZERO, Anima finds balance in yoga, long walks through the hills of Nepal, and small acts of everyday environmental advocacy—whether it’s picking up litter mid-hike or sparking conversations that challenge business as usual. For her, protecting the planet isn’t just a job. It’s a way of being.

Green Decision Labs and Research (GD Labs) is an innovative climate-tech research hub based in Nepal, dedicated to creating data-driven, people-powered solutions that pave the way for a sustainable future.
